What is Las Vegas?

Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada, United States. The city was founded in the first decade of the 20th century, and is a major vacation, shopping, and gambling destination. In the 2000 census, the city reported a population of 478,434. The Census Bureau's official population estimate as of 2004 was 534,837. Las Vegas has been the county seat of Clark County since its formation in 1909. Recent figures place the population for the Las Vegas metropolitan area, which includes all of Clark County, at around 1,950,000 people (2005 estimate), the fastest growing in the United States.

The name Las Vegas is often applied to the unincorporated areas of Clark County that surround the city, especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip. This 4½ mi (7¼ km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is mostly outside the Las Vegas city limits, in the unincorporated town of Paradise.

The center of gambling in the US, Las Vegas is sometimes called Sin City due to the popularity of legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages any time (like all of Nevada), various forms and degrees of adult entertainment, and legalized prostitution in nearby counties (it is illegal, though, in Las Vegas and Clark County; Nevada law prohibits prostitution in counties which have populations greater than 400,000). The nickname favored by local government and promoters of tourism is The Entertainment Capital of the World. The city's glamorous image has made it a popular setting for films and television programs.

Good for Guys
This is in essence a party planner for a group of relatively-inexperienced guys looking to pack as much carousing as possible into a Las Vegas weekend. Any group that meets that description should have this book. The flip side is that it has essentially nothing to say to anyone else, e.g., singles, couples, families, or seniors.
Score BIG In Sin City!
This book is perfect for anyone looking to have fun in Las Vegas, Nevada, A.K.A. Sin City. I've often wondered if all the hype about 'comped' rooms and 'happening' night clubs is true. After all, people are always telling me how to get things for free in Vegas, how to get into the hottest night clubs, etc. But is it true? This book answered those questions for me and explained the reality behind many other common myths.

The book also includes advice on finding the best bars in town, where to eat like a king, where to gamble and how to gamble smart, and how to get around in the city. Believe me; if you've ever taken a cab ride in Las Vegas, you know what I'm talking about. Find out in advance how to get around before you arrive. It could save you time and money. The book also covers the most important topic, which is, "Where should you stay in Vegas?". You'd be surprised to find out how important this can be. The book explains why.

Bottom line, I frequent Vegas quite often, even lived there for a summer in 2003. This book reveals quite a bit of Vegas 'Behind the Scenes' information I never knew about. You'll find no hype or fluff here. Just helpful tips and useful advice on making the most of your trip to Vegas. This is definitely good reading material for those looking to 'Score Big' in Sin City!
Don't Leave Home Without It
It blows my mind that a book like this wasn't written before, but after reading "The Las Vegas Little Black Book," I'm very happy that no one else -- besides these guys -- did. The authors have a stranglehold on the ins and outs of Vegas, and they're completely honest about the good, the bad, and the ugly of my favorite city.

This book tries to be all things to all guys...and succeeds. It's a travel guide (with the best hotels specifically for guys looking to party, the top hotspots that have the most hotties, and the best eats that won't eat up your bankroll), a gambling guide (showing how to play table games and how NOT to lose your wallet doing it), an insider's guide (with hidden gems and plenty of kickass daytime activities to keep the party rolling), and a general advice guide (showing how to find single girls, how to do the maximum partying with the minimum amount of hangover, and how to keep your group of friends happy and together).

The icing on the cake is that the thing's a great read. Sometimes you don't want to stop reading because the information is so solid and sometimes you can't put it down because it's cracking you up.

The book may not have come out in time for my bachelor party, but it just guaranteed that my brother is going to have the best weekend of his life before he ties the knot...
Blown Away!
As a guy who lived in Vegas for over ten years, I was blown away when I read Las Vegas Little Black Book. First of all, it's the only Vegas guide book that actually gets it right. The authors know every dirty little secret about this wonderful city, and aren't afraid to share their knowledge with the general public. From the "Classic Vegas Mistakes," to the chapter rating the best gentlemens clubs on and off the strip, to the sample itineraries which assume that most men need hour by hour guidance (which is absolutely true), this Las Vegas Little Black Book leaves any other Vegas guide book in the dust. I'd never plan a trip to Vegas without it!
It's Vegas, baby ! ! ! . . .
. . .and what guy doesn't want to know just where to go and what to do while in Sin City! After all vacation time is short so why waste it figuring out things during your stay! The authors say it like it is and steer you in the right direction. Having been to Vegas just recently, I agree with their comments on the places that I have seen for myself and would feel comfortable trusting them on their other recommendations. Easy to pack, lots of info. Fun book to read too!
