Casino Bookstore about craps

What is craps?

Craps (previously known as crabs) is a casino gambling game using dice. Players wager money against the casino on the outcome of one roll, or of a series of rolls of two dice.

Craps can also be played in less formal settings and is said to be popular among soldiers. In such situations side bets are less frequent, with one or several participants covering or "fading" bets against the dice.

Craps is a bet that the shooter will roll 2, 3 or 12 on the next roll. The true odds are 8-1 and the casino pays 7-1.

C & E is actually two bets. A player is betting one unit on craps and another unit on 11. One of the two bets will always lose, and the other will pay off as above.

Horn is a bet that involves betting on 1 unit each for 2, 3, 11 and 12 at the same time for the next roll. Most players do a "Horn High" bet which involves betting an additional $1 on one of the 4 choices, with the most frequent being a $5 "horn high yo" bet (which means $2 on the 11, $1 each on 2, 3 & 12).

The field bet is a wager that one of the numbers in the box (usually 2, 3, 4, 9,10,11,12) will be rolled on the next roll of the dice. This bet pays even money, but the true odds are 4-5. Often 2 and/or 12 will pay 2-1. Some casinos pay 3-1 on either the 2 or 12.

Reviews:

A Masterpiece for sure
This book is a masterpiece of craps writing and the five step method is a winning method over the casinos.

You will learn:

How to control the dice.
How to bet on yourself.
How to use the 5-Count to bet on random rollers.
How to get more comps than you actually deserve.
How to get a monetary edge.

The book has a great section on darkside playing too.

The chapter on the Captain, his complete life story, is facinating. This is the father of the dice control movement and Scoblete really lets us meet him in a close way.

This book, as all Scoblete books, is well written and loaded with information.
Weak, little decent information
This Craps title isn't worth your time. It's full mostly of stories about craps players, and vague advice on the potential of dice control. The centerpiece of the book is the highly touted '5-count', which is nothing more than a betting system that gives you no chance of diminishing the house edge. Get Sharpshooter's book instead.
Unique Book Shows Why Captain can roll 147 Numbers
The greatest craps book ever written interms of how to get an edge over the house, including the story of the Captain, who just rolled 147 numbers!!!! You can read about this great roll at golden touch craps web site under the world records. The five steps to advantage play in this book can make you a winner.
Stating the obvious
This is the first craps strategy book I've read. I'm reading a second now in preparation for an upcoming trip to Vegas.

Forever Craps was a disappointment. There's an occasional tip that seems reasonable, but it states the obvious a lot... what a pass line bet is, what ALL the bets are. Unless you've never even stepped up to a craps table and thrown the dice, it goes on for a while with obvious information.

I'm not disputing the concept of controlling the dice, but this book doesn't really help you find that control.
There is no better strategy...PERIOD
One thing that all the skeptics out there need to understand is that Scoblete doesn't claim that the 5 count system used on random rollers will win in the long run. As a matter of fact, Scoblete would be one of the first people to admit this. The only time that a person can obtain an edge on the house is when he(or she) is either setting the dice, or is betting on someone else who is setting the dice(people otherwise known as "ryhmic rollers")

He only suggests the five count to SAVE you money, not WIN you money. Trust me. When the the table turns ice cold, you will thank the five count as it will save you a lot of money for not betting on those bad rolls and quick seven outs. When the table turns hot, you will be thankful of the five count for helping you find those hot rhythmic rollers and giving you the extra money to spare that would have been blown on the cold shooters if you had been betting on them every roll.

For all you people out there that claim that "Nobody can really control the dice. It's impossible!" I feel very very very sorry for you because you are ignorant in the fact that it has been INDESPUTABLY AND MATHEMATICALLY PROVEN that people have and still are controlling the dice by obtaining a sevens to rolls ratio of 1 to 7 or higher(when the ratio for random rollers is 1 to 6) which gives those players and everyone else who bets on them A MATHEMATICAL EDGE OVER THE HOUSE IN THE LONG RUN!!! If you are still arguing against this concept, that just shows that you are obviously not educated enough on the game of craps or the concept of kinematics and projectile motion to offer your opinions on the matter. So before you start arguing with a Physicist about projectile motion or telling a mathematician that 2 + 2 is not equal to 4, do your homework first and protect yourself from getting embarressed online in front of thousands of people for your half-brained opinions.

In conclusion, if you are a recreational craps player, or a serious gambler, you need this book. There is no other way to obtain an edge over the house at craps in the long run without Scoblete's and the Captain's strategy other than cheating. I would bet my life on it because it has been mathematically proven and is indesputable. Learn the 5 count, learn to set and control the dice.
